This smoothie is my absolute favourite post-workout energizer at the moment. It's the perfect amount of chocolatey, healthy, delicious, nutrient-filled goodness. A great boost for after your workout, a quick lunch or a snack. The three main ingredients that give this smoothie its deliciousness are cacao powder, dates and flaxseeds.
Can you tell I love making my own non-dairy milks? By now I'm really, really hoping you have tried making my Homemade Almond Milk and my Homemade Coconut Milk. If not, no big deal. In the mean time, here's another amazing milk to add to your list...hemp seed milk! Now you can try making all three at once haha. I'm joking...well kinda sorta. ;)
I had the cutest and funniest conversation with my 4 year old daughter Lily the other day. We were driving home from school and I was telling her how I thought we should try making our own granola. She was so excited and came up with an entire plan on what we should put into it and how we should mix in some maple syrup and coconut oil.
Yep, you read that right. You can make your own coconut milk, rather than buying it from the store, all full of sugar and other ingredients you just don't need. I reallyyyyy wish there was a way for you to smell the deliciousness of homemade coconut milk through your computer screen haha. I
Good day beautiful readers! So those that know me well, know that I absolutely love baking. There is always something freshly baked in my pretty little dessert stand from IKEA. It's just a Shelli thing. I remember sending Jas (my hubby) home with baked goods all the time when we were dating....
We absolutely love steel cut oats in our house and in fact, sometimes we have them for dinner. There is nothing better than a 'breakfast for dinner' option a few times a month. My girls love 'oatmeal night'...actually that was their dinner last night, as per Lily's request. :)
